Law at Key Stage 5

In year one, we concentrate on the machinery of the legal system, considering how each element works and how it connects to the other elements. Key themes are criminal law and criminal procedure as we aim to provide a thorough grounding in preparation for year 13.

Causing a Criminal Result

In year two, we concentrate solely on criminal law. Our focus is on the most well-known offences such as murder and theft. By looking at the rules for each offence, including examining some of the most famous cases in English law, we are able to apply these rules to solve different scenarios. We also consider some of the criticisms that can be levelled at these offences.
