Years 8 and 9 - Letter to Parents - Residential Trip to Battlefields in France/Belgium

Posted: 19/07/2016

Humanities Faculty Residential Trip to Battlefields in Northern France and Belgium Estimated dates: October Half Term 2017 (dates tbc by Shropshire Council)

We are pleased to announce our intention to take our biannual Humanities Faculty residential field trip to see the Battlefields of Northern Europe to mark the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. This will be an educational visit, which forms part of our enrichment programme within the Faculty, and we hope that the challenges that the week provides will spur them on to considerable achievements.

The trip is being offered to all students who are in Years 8 and 9. The History Department has run this trip several times in the past and we know that it is a very popular trip so it is likely that a reserve list will have to be drawn up in the event that we exceed the maximum student capacity of 45 students. The staff: student ratio is 1:8 for this residential due it being a coach-based trip.

Please see letter below for more trip information as well as details of a parental briefing on 13th September 2016.
